Black and White Wednesday on the farm

This one is from the other day, I am a little behind on blog stuff. The bunny hounds heading for the truck.
Another from the other day, taken at the bus stop, lots of buzzards for some reason.
Now we are on this morning's rain photos. I thought this chain was interesting, nice and rusty.
View from below the spring house.
Looking up into an old cedar by the creek.
Aggy tearing up the ground this morning as she ran to her favorite pooping place.
Our old tub that is now a flowerbed. I am thinking about getting a second one so Debbie and I can set out front together like in the commercials.
Houdini touching the wire to see if it is electrified, just checking.
Black and White barn cat.
Some of the farmer's abandoned tires that I had to move out of my way and decided to build a wall.
Waiting for spring.

    1. The animals are used to me taking photos and usually ignore me once they see I don't have food. Lots to take photos of for sure.

    1. I should have taken a video, they were barking and howling, fun to watch!

  3. Sometimes the black and white photos tell the story better than getting all caught up in the color. I really like the cat, but my favorite cats are always black and white!

    1. We have two black and white ones, I call them holsteins as they remind me of the cows. I used to take B&W back in the days of film and kind of miss them, more artsy I guess.

  4. Great photos and that one of Houdini is hilarious. I've never thought about B&W photos one way or another but have been working with them lately for a writing project. It's interesting because shadow, shading, and differences in color value are key, I'm learning.

    1. Well black and white photos aren't really black and white but just shades of gray, that is the key to them. You have to manipulate the contrast much of the time to make them not look flat. In the old days it meant lots of time at the enlarger if you weren't lucky enough to get it right in the camera. Now I just use GIMP.
